SO realistic, how do you work it out, you start with black and bring out the light portions is it ?!
Artist Reply: Thank you Padmavathy. Often I will do a preliminary charcoal study. Once I begin the oil painting, I usually try to hit the values as close as I can from the beginning. I want to establish my darkest dark and lightest value as early as possible to have something to compare with. I try to keep the darks pretty thin and build up the lights.
