This is a colored pencil painting I did based on a photograph that I took in August 2016 while we were on a summer vacation to Door County, Wisconsin. We were near the village of Fish Creek as the day was coming to a close, and the light was beautiful as the sun was setting. We drove on until we found access to the bay. This is the view that we found. The way the trees and grasses were silhouetted in warm brown caught my attention. I knew it was the perfect scene for a painting entitled "Door County Sunset Silhouette". This piece was done on two separate sheets of museum quality Dura-lar polyester film using Farber-Castell Polychromos pencils. The size of the artwork is 8 X 12 inches. This scene gave us a warm, welcoming feeling. I hope that my rendering of the scene gives you this feeling as well. Thank you for looking.
