This piece is based on a still life that I set up and photographed myself. I have done another piece on a Crayola display and decided to do one more because we all relate to Crayola. I started with this medium as a child, as I believe most of us have. The Crayola was the medium probably used to render our first "creation". I want to help keep creative alive and well in today's young artists. I for one prefer they spend more time on a "hands-on medium" a less time playing video games. This piece was done on Dura-lar matte surfaced polyester film using Prismacolor Verithin pencils. It is done in a realistic style and measures 8 inches X 12 inches. Let's encourage young artists to express themselves. I hope that you share my feelings. Enjoy.

Marvelous artistic realism of these iconic gems of artistic expression!!!!!

Artist Reply: Vernonette: I try to achieve a level of realism that can almost be mistaken for a photograph. Thank you for the very nice comment. I agree that this medium is the iconic way we all started our creative expression. Best regards, Will

Very fun and makes reminisce of course of childhood.

Artist Reply: Tameisha: thank you so much. This was a fun piece to do. We all have used crayolas as children and I felt that doing a still life featuring them would be a most appropriate tribute. I'm glad that this piece spoke to you and perhaps your "inner child". Have a good day.

Strong work Will, by a piece like this you have to be sure the textes are exact the reality ... and you succeeded !

Artist Reply: Ivo: thank you so much for your very generous comment. I think that many of us began using crayolas and I wanted to do a piece that celebrates the worth of this often forgotten medium. Always good to hear from you. Have a very good week. Best regards, Will
