Gemma: great colored pencil work! Amazing realism. I too do colored pencil in a photo realistic style. The surface I use is a matte surfaced polyester film rather than paper. If you have time, check out some of my latest posts. Have a great week. Best regards, Will

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Will. This piece was my first coloured pencil piece in around 17 years. I was so pleased he turned out well! I am really enjoying using colour, although still learning as I go. I use Strathmore Bristol Smooth Board for all my graphite work, due to it's wonderful surface. It works well for blending. This coloured pieces are done on the same board, and so far I've found it really nice to work with. Great for burnishing. I've never thought to try any other surface yet, but I'm still getting to grips with the pencils so may have to try something else once I feel comfortable. Thank you for the heads up and taking time to check out my work. You have a wonderful body of work. So incredibly detailed! I've added you to my watched artist list. Have a great week, and happy drawing!
