I lost a dear old friend this week. I sat there for hours beneath a tree stroking his back as he slowly, peacefully gave up the fight. Wishing he didn't have to go....wishing I didn't care so much.....realizing I still wouldn't give up the years of joy he brought despite how very awful those last moments felt. Rest in peace sweet Buford. I loved you dearly. Original 4 x 4 gallery-wrapped mini painting in a private collection.
