On a 8.5 X 11.5 old 90 weight cold press paper. I outlined a drawing of mm in light pencil, scribed with a orange stick, then erasing the pencil. the taking a orange stick, started compressing Carbon coal along a straight edge leaving an illusion of the etched drawing for the finished blocking. Finally spraying with hair spray to set the grounded carbon coal into a capping. I was disappointed when the spray wrinkled the old paper. Putting the dried work under a heavy weight gave me a uncompilable feature. It appears to have a light coming in through a blinds. Or at least that is what I see. Enjoy, more Coal blocking to come in the future.

TERRIFIC WORK DAVID.. I USE AT LEAST 140 COLD PRESS PAPER OR HIGHER IF I CAN FIND IT FOR WATERCOLOR ETC.. AND ALWAYS USE A FIXATIVE SPRAY.. CHEAP ONES IN WAL MART IN THE PAINT DEPT. WORK GREAT.. JOANIE

Artist Reply: Thank you Joanie. I use fixative on heaver weights. Using hair sprays on the older aged cold press paper works better for me. I just now deed to test tral on a spare piece of the paper I will be using. Scotty
