Birds presumably mate for life, or some of them do, as I recall. Hmmm. I guess saying it like that, they have that trait in common with humans. But I'm thinking that does birdkind a disservice. ;) This is a 12 by 12 inch acrylic bird painting on gallery-wrapped canvas and another example of (you guessed it) Original Jones Art. Postscript: This piece was chosen for the 2015 'For The Love of Art' show at Austin ArtSpace Gallery, Austin, TX.

Magnificent as always!!

Artist Reply: Thanks, Dawson - Lynn! I just had my style characterized as 'colorful and quirky' by another artist. Have you ever noticed that, by and large, artists do not buy art? Yet they are probably the most qualified to appreciate it. I find this the least bit troubling. ;)

Great work!

Artist Reply: As always, much thanks, Heloisa! This one I just spontaneously sketched onto the canvas and went for it. I don't do that much anymore; I usually sketch an idea first on paper or my magnetic pad. But this one did, I think, work out OK. :)

The colors are great! Why do you call him Woody?

Artist Reply: With that elongated beak, Stanley, he could easily be a woodpecker and the woodpecker I grew up with had a first name of Woody. :) You may notice that the shadow of the 'date' seems strangely reminiscent of a dragon's. A dragon lady perhaps? :) Hope you are doing great!

Love the color, details and the look on Woody's face. Yikes!! Love it...another masterpiece my friend! Love the quality of your work!! Mark

Artist Reply: The guy does have a pained look like he knows this assignation is going to be less than pleasurable, doesn't he? Thanks for the nice comment, Mark. I appreciate it. :)
