Delusions of Grandeur

"Delusions of Grandeur" - a piece that debuted as part of the group show "What Big Eyes You Have" in Orlando. "Delusions of Grandeur" is one of my favourite psychiatric terms, referring to one has an over-inflated notion of their self-importance. This painting reflects this somewhat - on first impression it may appear to be a simple lovely Rococo portrait, but upon closer inspection you will notice that it is all a facade - the mural is peeling, the mirror is cracked, the fabric is torn and stained, the fruit is attracting flies and nothing is quite as grand as it first may seem. The original itself sold at the show but I have prints & posters available! This is my own original acrylic painting. My original acrylic painting. Prints available at http://www.zazzle.com/strangeling* and http://www.strangeling.com
