©2011 Helena-Sophia Exel.....This view will present itself to You when You venture from Kalapana alongside the shore towards the West. A small strip of land has survived several attempts of the Lava to overrun the plateau, that rose an average of ~10 feet above the surrounding area. That difference has been leveled on the West side in July 2010. Here, on the East side of the 'island on the island', the difference in elevation is still visible. This is where my heart is most happy, blissful.
