Velvetleaf mallow, has a pretty common name but it is a noxious crop weed. It has other names such as Indian mallow and China jute. This one might have been "planted" by the migrating geese or ducks at Hagerman NWR in Sherman, Texas. (The worm is probably a corn earworm.)
