Sun Child and Moon Child

"Sun Child and Moon Child" - one of my favourite paintings to date, I love the colours in this one. Loosely inspired by the song "Moonchild" by King Crimson - these sisters stand together, but separately - representing the sun (on your left) and the moon (on your right). The sky & sea are both shown here reflecting the day/night dichotomy. Sun Child is cradling a chalice holding the light of the sun, and Moon Child carries a vessel containing the crescent moon. A rooster represents day/morning, and the moon-bunny is for the night. This is a piece I debuted & sold at Dragon*Con 2011 - originally it was in a really neat diptych (two-paneled) altarpiece frame that my husband Matt made for me. Even though the original has sold though, I have prints & other merchandise featuring these beauties! My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
