HMS Bounty

This is a project undertaken just over a year ago by a friend. He has the original plans of the Bounty, millions of tools, materials and an endless ocean (pun intended) of patience. He redraws onto cards from the original plans, converts from imperial measurements (yards, feet, inches) to metric, scales down and then hand crafts each and every part from pieces of mahogany, oak - you name it. He has even cut individually each letter for the names of the lifeboats - see zoomed-up pic. Some of the brass parts for the rigging are less than 1mm but are perfect replicas, to scale, of the original pieces - working wheels made from pieces of brass. I'm in complete awe and asked to take pictures so that I could show other people what human ingenuity is capable of. He even does wood panelling for the interior of the cabins!
