Peregrine falcons are such amazing birds- and clever too. One day at work I was walking on the path that circled the pond by my office and looked ahead to see a peregrine falcon carrying something and being chased by a bunch of starlings. It was flying straight at me-- and only veered off less than a food before me- trying to get the starlings off its tail... and using me to provide the "barrier". as it swept past me I noticed that it was carrying a small painted turtle. Talk about close up and personal!!!
