Alice in Fragonard's Swing

"Alice in Fragonard's Swing" is the title - one of my favourite Alice in Wonderland paintings I've done yet (actually one of my favourite paintings of any kind I've done yet)! This is the ninth painting in my sub-series called "Alice in Other Lands" which are paintings featuring Alice in a variety of unusual circumstances, thrown into settings inspired by my love of art history (be sure to check out the other installments honoring Bosch, Velázquez, Brueghel, da Vinci and more). Here we have my Alice on the set of one of the most beautiful and famous paintings in the world - "The Swing" from they year 1767 by Jean-Honoré Fragonard - the epitome of French Rococo painting! Here we have Aliceon the swing - the white rabbit, dodo bird, cheshire cat (he is in here twice), playing cards - several Alice references. I had a lot of fun with this one! The original painting itself of "Alice in Fragonard's Swing" as well as the Limited Edition Gallery Canvases are exclusive at Pop Gallery in Downtown Disney West Side® in Walt Disney World Resort® here in Florida (where she debuted!). My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
