Her Majesty...

Pastel on Colourfix primed watercolour paper, 15" x 12". A portrait of Queen Elisabeth II. I have painted this portrait to donate to my local Masonic Lodge, they do so much good work for the community and have only an old framed photo of the Queen in their refectory so this portrait will bring them up to date.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, JOHN. INCREDIBLE PAINTING REALLY. YOU HAVE CAUGHT THE QUEEN'S LOOK TO A "T". BEAUTIFUL!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Sharon, the likeness was very important as you can imagine but I also wanted to capture something of her as she is now with a little warmth and show her as a grandmother as well as a head of state. I have had to exaggerate some aspects so that it reads right at a distance, without loosing the likeness, I think she will sit very nicely on the wall looking down on us when we toast Her. Kindest regards John

Artist Reply: Thank so very much Marie-Claire, I'm very pleased you like the portrait I wanted to capture her as a woman of the time. John
