Breast feeding: India (2011)

This is the second of four paintings of breast feeding. This one comes from India, where a peasant woman sits in front of a poor village. It may be the one picked for auction at for the Breast Feeding Coalition silent auction. You can help decide which one will be most successful.

Another beautiful and sensitive portraiture in your series of a mommy and her newborn, showing the importance of nursing your baby. MY POD! --You know, David, I'm Dutch living in the States and I'm still stunned about the puritan point of view of lots of Americans. My daughter has to feed her baby-girl under a kind of "tent" which she drapes around her shoulders when she is not at home; Almost 30 years ago I breast fed my daughter in the open in a restaurant in the Netherlands. I so totally agree with Nelly!! When breasts are used for feeding, you should not have to hide them! --Love and Light, Olga
