Self Portrait

Cynthia is an award-winning artist who's career began in 1990 with a solo exhibition of her paintings in a Chicago coffee shop. Throughout the 90's, her oil paintings were seen in various group and solo exhibitions through out the Windy City. In 2000, Cynthia re-focused her creative energies towards becoming a full-time freelance illustrator in the sci-fi/fantasy genre, and has enjoyed a successful career from the start. An approved Lucasfilm artist, Cynthia has provided artwork for Star Wars Insider magazine, Star Wars trading cards, and the official Star Wars web site. She has also recently been a guest artist at three official Star Wars conventions. Several pieces of her art have recently been added to the Lucasfilm private collection.

Cynthia is also a notable artist in the trading card industry. Her art can be seen on trading cards for such titles as Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Shrek, Doctor Who, The Three Stooges, The Wizard of Oz, Heroes and many others. Her illustrated cards are some of the most sought-after by collectors and trading card enthusiasts around the world. Aside from trading cards, this year her art was published on the cover of Non Sport Update magazine, in the interior pages of A Life of Ravens by Alex Ness, and in an anthology by Friends of Lulu titled A Girls' Guide to Guys' Stuff . Earlier this year, a Three Stooges illustration she completed was added to a museum in Pensylvannia housing official Stooges props, costumes, and art. When asked if she's happy about that, she replies, "Soitenly!" Cynthia also continues to illustrate her own portfolio of art which reflects her personal style and passion for drawing.

Finding great joy in traveling, Cynthia spends much of her time flying to various sci-fi/fantasy conventions in the U.S. and abroad. She regularly attends San Diego Comic Con and was Artist Guest of Honor at Mountain Con in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has been to Manchester and London to greet collectors of her work in '06 and '07 and hopes to add other European conventions to her roster in 2008.

In her spare time (when she has any), Cynthia has worked as a background extra on recent film/v shows such as The Weatherman, Derailed, Cheaper by the Dozen II, Jericho, and The L Word. An artist first and foremost, Cynthia is delighted that her art is scattered in private collections around the globe!
