Starting to go through the images captured last year to see which ones have retained their arresting of my attention at the time I took them compared to NOW- - like looking back to a previous NOW through the filter of the other NOWS that have manifested up until this one. I guess it's retrospect. So at this point they are fresh ideas that I see as a an entry into an in-depth look into these two images conceptual structure with a series of permutations. The two I posted today are the leading edges of the paths that are now spreading ahead of me. The studio is ready for me to start the Realism work again along with the new abstract avenues that I have started to uncover along with the restart of he Reverse Plastic paintings. I think it will provide a delightful array of possibilities for any time in the studio. |

Re-starting the journey after a lot of diversions - re-establishing a new studio space and getting some work in progress and trying to build some momentum. Looking at shadows now with the long shadows of the post solstice sun and how light can be appear refracted in a flat plane image and with no depth of field indicated by using a vanishing point in composition - or reference to depth of field at all - except how the light travels over a short distance. Angles can really abound here and the eye is constantly - refocusing and therefore slightly out of focus in general - I think - nice patinas on the surfaces too - good old entropy with a human touch. The Moongazer posted today could be part of a new vein going back to the days of darkroom dodging a la Man Ray and doing it real time with digital gear. Could lead to an interesting abstract diversion. After all - the abstract is all around us. |

Finally moved into new digs- Started "Mandolin Man" to go along with continuing on 'Revival - for the Music of the Cosmos - musician series, quite a dry painting spell but now on two and a third in the hopper. Added some new "city Skins" from recent captures ...more to come |

Finished "Troubadors" today - 72x54 oil on canvas. Thanks to "High Class" Joe, Michael and Patrick and to all who have come by the studio to view the painting in progress - especially my children and my wife - Jean. |
