really have to admire many of the people on this site, the work here and the talent is incredible. I really have become better with my photo skills just from being here and seeing so much from so many talented people. To me this site is like art education all in itself with an twist if your lucky you can make a bit of money, of course I would not know much about that, 'cause I haven't made much money. But hey I am growing and learning and getting better, and for me that is good enough, although if anyone wanted to buy a few prints I'd be okay with it! :) later. Karen

I just got my second novel published, it will be available soon, to say the least I am sitting tonight just reflecting on all the changes that I have gone through this past year, two novels and who knows how many paintings. I seem to flow freely when I am working, but taking down time is sometimes a bit of a strain, because I am always onto my next project. but this week I am taking a break, I'm feeling drained and need to rejuvenate. So I'm really going to try to rest for a couple of weeks, I will be away on a small vacation to New Orleans. I am looking forward to getting away for a couple of days, no computers, I may not even answer the phone. So if anyone wants to talk to me just leave me a message and I'll catch up with you later. :)

Hello Well I have certainly been busy for the past few weeks, I have been painting non-stop and when I am not painting I'm writing. My novel Prisms came out in december, it's a small novella available now at amazon, my next one Passion's Captive will be out this spring, and Jaded the sequel to Prisms will be out in the fall, between the novels and the painting I never stop. And I'm thankful to be in a position to work at what I love, even if I work constantly at least it is something I like to do, so that is a blessing in its own right. Thanks for reading and looking at my work. I am grateful for all the positive feedback and for everyone who has helped me become better at this craft. I continue to learn something new each day, I am still not selling a good amount on my art sites but enjoy being a part of this community anyway. I have a good bit of word of mouth business and continue to be a popular local artist in that respect. I have worked with several charitable organized auctions since Katrina and auctioned off several large pieces of my work to help people who were displaced after Katrina get housing, that is but one of the many causes I have donated time and work to. I always have a several irons in the fire at one time! I'm never still for long The road to success to me is full of constant change and being able to find a good path is just a matter of being consistent and never giving up on your dreams. always find a positive outlet to express yourself, and when the going gets tough move faster, if you can do that, then slow down and look for the culprit that is causing the problem, fix it and move on, never dwell on things you can't change, life is constant change and we have to change with it.

I've been on a self searching journey this past year and have recently been exploring things around with new interest.Like my Small Town America series, where I have either photographs or painting depicting small town life or local marina and seascapes, I have really enjoyed working with this chapter of my life. Thanks to all of you for reading / looking. :)

Dear VirgileMy answer is to cemobe an art lover. Everything takes time. But this is an investment. For example, you have to go back time and again to an art gallery, look at the same works over and over. Reading, not only on art but following your deep interest. The investment is you get an anchor in life and a sense of personal discovery and progress in understanding the world you live in.Anyway, you have to discover your deep interest and pursue it to Get a Life.[I was talking to a young pop musician the other day. And it’s great to do that. Not everyone can get a band together. But even a pop musician needs culture (I don’t mean protest songs are obligatory) otherwise he won’t have ideas and he will stagnate like a boring old fart, like an old pop musician who can only say ‘fuck’.] -

rude comments are not helpful, but then some people just don't care what they do or who they do it to.Have a good day and please refrain from leaving nonsense comments on other people's blogs. - karen Salley'Rice

this time of the year is not my favorite, I would love to feel a nice fall breeze right about now. it's so hot and sticky outside I can't stand it and I'm not feeling very inspired to work either. I just want fall to get here, like NOW! :)
