Sisters Of Joy

I recently did a portrait for a friend who has put up a new website. She has an amazing family story. She is an incredible woman, and a wonderful person. She is a distant cousin of my husband who I met online doing our family tree. She's sponsoring a site to give support for those dealing with finding family members that were given up for adoption, or to help adoptees to find their family. I truly have person reasons for becoming a member of this site, as I've adopted children, and know of several family members that were put up for adoption. Some members are ones that were not put up for adoption, and are ones that were raised away from their siblings and other family members. It's hard to have to wonder where they are, are they okay, are even, if still living. Any monies I earn from sales of this portrait will be donated to her organization, also she does have permission to use this work and several other works of mine may also later be added as well. Her site is www.adoption9months2life.com Free to all, a site for anyone touched by adoption, who is searching for loved ones, still under construction!

Digital is nice. I miss the smell of paint drying though!

Artist Reply: Thanks Stanley! I miss it as well, but with my arthritis I tend to wind up with most the pain t on me. It takes me ages to complete a work by hand. More because I have to keep cleaning up from all the spills I make. Still, will try to do more in the future. Will wait until I have a studio set up, after I get moved and settled in. I do love that I can take my laptop and Wacom tablet everywhere to work. I've one for my laptop, and one for my PC. I can hold the wireless stylus without pain all day, but just short times with pens, brushes, etc. You just don't have to grip at hard as you can set it to your own personal settings. Bliss to be painting, and the software keeps improving.

Unique yet universal, joy unadulterated be isness

Artist Reply: Thanks Gregory!!! The joy of these girls being reunited is one I can so relate to. I didn't meet my oldest sister until last summer. I found her on the internet as we both were researching our family history. I met Sharon, the angel on the left, online about 8 years ago also researching her family history. The phots she sent me of her and the girls were all at young ages. I thought of how giggly my younger sister and I used to be sitting out and picking dandelions. Joy can be from just simple things, just being next to someone you love.
