Keith Mooney began his photography career at a very young age under the tutelage of his father, Jim Mooney – an award winning newspaper and freelance photographer. He would ride into NYC with his father to drop film off at the news office. Going into the darkroom through a revolving door felt like you were entering a completely new world. After they left the office they’d pick up breakfast or lunch and drive around the city. It was trips like these that would help shape Keith’s love of photography.
In early 2002 Keith ventured to Los Angeles to work in the entertainment industry. First as a Production Assistant, then getting promoted to Writers Assistant and finally as a Director of a live TV Auction show in Hollywood, CA.
Then, in 2007, Keith married the love of his life, Heather – an east coast transplant as well. Half way through 2008 they decided that being nearly 3,000 miles away from their families wasn’t good enough. So in October of this year they relocated to Oak Ridge, TN.
These days you can find Keith hiking through the Great Smoky Mtn. National Park, meandering the streets of downtown Knoxville or at a local equine event. Where ever he is he is sure to have his camera with him ready to shoot whatever catches his eye.
