Here are some examples for different styles of rose. I like to let them seem to flow into shape. Try to concentrate on shape and shading for maximum effect

I have drawn a few roses but I did them in ballpoint pen.The only advice I can give you is maybe to add some water drops for a more realistic look.Other than that ,try and focus on the shading and highlights...Randy
