PURPLE MAUI VANDAS FROM THE SEVEN SACRED POOLS

PURPLE MAUI VANDAS FROM THE SEVEN SACRED POOLS paintography by MICHAEL FORBUS (MIGUEL) `Uo `ia i ka manai ho`okahi. Strung like flowers on the same lei needle. Married. Hawaiian Proverbs. When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not. - Georgia O'Keeffe

Another stunning and dramatic expression of your brilliant artwork and sensitivity to the beauty of nature. When Kevie was about eleven, we stayed at the Hotel Hana Maui, a paradise on earth. The seven sacred pools were amazing. Thanks for your beautiful card and the wise words of the brilliant and rare person and artist, Georgia O' Keefe.

Artist Reply: That is a remarkable Palatial Hotel. The food there is outrageous. I went for a two week vacation to Maui and stayed 6 months. I got on Maui time and it really took over. My friend in Lahiana had a sport fishing business so I fished with him for 3 months and traipsed all over Hana on my other Musician friend's Banana and ?????plantation the he bought playing on recordings and tours with the Moody Blues. Between the Kona coffee and herbal remedies I was a walking think tank by myself. Great and God sent beauty. I am a Plumeria addict like absinthe to the 20's French expats..... and I can still smell the trees of it everywhere, my sister has a tree next to her table where she sits and thinks in the morning and throws the ball for the Retriever incessantly. So when the wind blows through her window in Florida I am drunken with the fragrance. All so beautiful, this earth and also all my delightful friends as you are. You are very special and will stay with me forever, my dear freind. Miguel

Just simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Artist Reply: Steve, thanks so much, my friend, these are a couple of orchids I shot in Maui. Great place for flowers. I fiddled with them a bit. My gratitude to you my good friend. Michael

I loved these the first time I saw them but now I *Really* love them with the "mat and frame" gone. They are so stunning and there is nothing to detract from them. Pure, sheer drama and beauty-beautiful...

Artist Reply: thanks so much for your kind comments. An artist that I really respect first brought it to my attention and then another that I respect as well and when the frame went so did the distraction from the work. So good ideas. Thanks so much Michael
