Feels Like Home

©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 08/29/12. This image was inspired by the great Randy Newman's song "Feels Like Home." I felt that this slavery image and that song had a deep kinship, each one further illustrates the other. My mind has a habit of putting unrelated things together, very quickly sometimes. This is a photo of an old dilapidated barn in Eastern North Carolina and my imaginings about the family that might have lived there. All they had was each other and a home. A Compullage™ creation. youtube:video_http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXP4UqgNg70

I like the thought of putting these things together. The people who were living there made it a home.

Artist Reply: Thank you very much dear Anneke for the wonderful comment.
Artist Reply: Thank you Anneke for your comment and visit. The original photo I based this on touched my heart with sadness at thes amazing human beings and how they survived and kept their heritage in the face of abuse and slavery.
