Looking Through Weeds

©Seth F. Weaver,Sr. Inspired by a recent trip to Eastern North Carolina which is largely an agricultural area. I was inspired by all the abandoned farms and delapidated barns I saw. They seemed to be untouched islands amidst plowed and planted fields. Sacred ground full of emotions and spirits of forgotten times and departed family boldly standing as monuments to a culture that lives on. I took as many photos as I could from a moving car. This is a Compullage™ creation.

wonderful work Seth, and yes,I think about those abandoned farms and the life that went with them, they also were part of a different world,a simpler more honest time where people had a strong work ethic and values,we place importance on such different things now and I wonder with all the advancements and changes and faster pace, are we really better off? I think a lot was lost that people now don't even realize is missing and we can never go back to.

Artist Reply: Ruth you have captured the essence of what I was trying to depict and say. Thank yu very much for your great comment.
